Card Issuing

Put a card on the balance.

Issue prepaid and loyalty cards against the balances you already hold, through the issuing partners you choose. Load them from a deposit or a transfer, set who can hold one, and watch the spend land back in the same ledger in real time.

Card issuing and processing partners you can connect

A card is just a balance people can spend

The hard part was never plastic. It is that the money on the card and the money in your ledger have to be the same money, at the same moment, or you are running two systems that argue with each other.

What it does

From a programme to a card in someone’s hand

Issuing sits on the wallet rather than beside it, so a card is a way to spend a balance you already manage rather than a separate product with its own reconciliation problem.

Your own programme

Run closed-loop issuing with your own BIN configuration, so the card is your product rather than somebody else’s with your logo on it. The issuing partner is assigned per programme, which means different segments can sit behind different processors without the platform noticing.

Who holds a card

Cards are assigned to a merchant, a customer or an affiliate, and an affiliate can issue onward to the customers underneath them. That last case is what makes distribution work: your partner hands out cards, and the balances still roll up to you.

Loading and spending

Load a card from an incoming deposit or a balance transfer, and every authorisation reduces the balance in real time rather than at the end of a batch. Because the card and the wallet read the same ledger, the number the customer sees in the app is the number the terminal will accept.

Allocations and expiry

Cards are tracked as allocations with their own expiry, so you can see what is issued, what is live and what has lapsed. Vouchers issue against the same prepaid accounts, which is why a promotion and a card are one system rather than two.

Managed where the account is

Card management sits in the banking portal and the merchant control panel, next to the balance it draws on. Nobody has to leave the account to freeze a card, and your support team is not the only route to doing it.

For your integration

The balance layer, as an API.

The web services portal documents the calls behind the wallet: read a total, request an amount, transfer between accounts and between currencies, request a payout, and pull balance rows. The same operations your own product will make, with the request and response for each one.

Frequently asked questions

  • Is this our card programme or yours?

Yours. Issuing is closed-loop with your own BIN configuration, and the processor behind it is assigned per programme. The cardholder relationship is with your brand.

  • Which issuing partners can we use?

The platform connects to a range of card processors and issuing partners, assigned per programme. Which are available to you depends on your jurisdiction and your programme, so it is worth confirming the specific partner you have in mind.

  • Can our affiliates issue cards to their own customers?

Yes. An affiliate can issue onward to the customers underneath them, which is how distribution programmes usually work, and the balances still consolidate to you.

  • How fast does spend show up?

Immediately. Card spend moves the same balance the rest of the platform reads, so there is no window where the app and the card disagree about what is available.

  • Can a card be loaded from an incoming bank payment?

Yes. A deposit arriving on an account can fund a card, as can an internal transfer from another balance.

  • How do vouchers relate to cards?

They issue against the same prepaid accounts and carry their own expiry, so a promotional balance and a card balance are the same machinery rather than a bolt-on.
